If “grief is love’s souvenir”* it’s from a trip that we didn’t want to take. And yet, the experience of being human is an experience of loss and longing; grief is on the itinerary. Some spiritual traditions focus so much on light and transcendence that we may feel there is something wrong with us for moving through the dark emotions of loss. In this brief workshop, Laura will guide you through some of the choppy waters of grieving, whether the loss you’re feeling is from a death, the loss of a relationship or career, our changing bodies and health, or grief for the great suffering of the world’s people and our planet. With meditation, writing prompts, the support of community, and permission to feel how you feel, you will be invited to experience the profound love that underlies all grief and can guide us back home.
