We all long to be authentically happy and content. Wisdom teachings throughout the ages have reminded us that no matter what is happening externally, natural great peace is our foundation, part of our deepest nature and therefore always available to us all. The question is – how do we gain more substantial access? What do we need to address within ourselves so to grow roots in this depth, and live with clarity, joy and equanimity, even amidst uncertainty?

In this two-part webinar, internationally respected spiritual teachers and authors Miranda Macpherson and Jim Finley will speak to how we can shift from seeking peace through particular circumstances, to accessing the peace that always IS, so you can open to a depth of peace that is your birthright and this world’s light.

Through articulate teaching, graceful transmission and a powerful meditation and inquiry practices, Miranda will guide you through and beyond the constraints of your ego agitation. Jim will help you explore the contemplative way of life in which we learn from the Divine how to be healed from all that hinders us from seeking, finding, and giving ourselves to our embodied divine nature. We will explore the ways in which we can draw upon spiritual foundations in helping us in psychotherapy and in our daily lives to heal traumas great and small within ourselves and others. Together, we will discover what can support us to truly be potent and peaceful where it matters most, and radiate the benefit to your loved ones and wider community.

– Explore your access to the state of natural great peace.
– Illuminate what disrupts your peacefulness, and why.
– Discover how you can be potent and peaceful when things aren’t perfect.
– Deepen your spiritual connection and practice.
– Radiate the gift of peace deeper into our world.

About Your Presenters

JIM FINLEY

When Jim Finley graduated from high school, he entered the cloistered Trappist monastery of the Abbey of Gethsemani in Kentucky. During the nearly six years he lived there as a member of the community he was especially blessed in having Thomas Merton in his role as master of novices guide him in search for God.  Since leaving the monastery Jim has written several books and has led weekend contemplative retreats in the United States and Canada.  He is now retired as a clinical psychologist who focused on the treatment of trauma with men and women who wanted their spirituality to be a resource in their therapy.  He is a core teacher in the Living School founded by Father Richard Rohr and he leads a weekly podcast “Turning to the Mystics” with Kirsten Oates.  He is currently writing a book with Kirsten on the nature and art of discernment with a focus on the enneagram.
