Bones of Writing

In times of tremendous upheaval and uncertainty, we need a practice we can turn to for refuge, a space we can count on to resource ourselves and recover some kind of equanimity.  The practice of writing offers this.  And we can direct it to what we’re called to do, whether that’s to write a memoir or a novel, or to organize for social justice, or to repair our relationship with our family…  We can turn to our notebooks again and again to continuously meet our lives—the joys and suffering—and to help make sense of the world and our place in it, to discover our hidden strengths and the stories we may be avoiding.  Natalie will share with us the writing practice she’s been doing for over fifty years.  We will write and read with her.  Bring your notebook and fast-writing pen.
