Building on her popular programs on meditation and the practice of silence, author Anne LeClaire returns once more to the Sophia Institute to lead a seminar on the power of active listening.

The program opens Friday evening with a taste of how deep listening can enhance our relationships and has the power to change the way we experience the world.  It will touch on the science of communication, and investigate what happens when we stop listening to each other and the whispers of discourse break down into the dissonance of miscommunication.

The exploration continues on Saturday with an interactive forum on what it means to listen deeply and how to listen with curiosity, wonder, receptivity and respect in a way that awakens our hearts and opens us to broader visions, and the interconnectivity that unites us all.

We will hone our listening skills in respect to our physical bodies, our families and communities, the planet we share, and the wise inner voices that guide us.

“The first duty of love is to listen.”

Paul Tillich.
